Nelson Pulse™ is the new local newsletter for Nelson that’s brightening inboxes first thing Mon-Fri.
It’s a little bit different. It’s fun not boring. You might even notice a few emoijs 😲 and a sense of humour.
We talk about what’s happening that matters in Nelson (and Stoke and Richmond – and sometimes even a little but further afield – because hey, we’re one big happy family, right?). We cover all the fun stuff to do that’s right on your doorstep, which is heaps of good things every week. We might even drop in the odd fun local photo or ‘dad joke’ just to keep you on your toes. Inbetween vitals such as Local Retail Moves™ and the Nelson Detour Digest™.
We’re not Stuff or the Nelson Weekly – they do a great job doing what they do. And long may that continue.
So we’re a fun friendly local newsletter not a newspaper. You guys have been enjoying things so far so we’ll keep doing what we’re doing (over 297 issues published so far — we launched on 7 Oct 2024).

Are you based in Nelson?
Yes, absolutely, we’re locals just like you. We’re a very small but growing ‘distributed team’ (that means we don’t have a big expensive office and generally work from home, in cafes or on the beach).
How do I subscribe?
Just head over to our homepage here, put in your best email address and we’ll be bightening your inbox in no time at all.
How do I unsubscribe?
Whaaat? Nobody does that! 😉 But OK, just so you know, if you’ve ever had too much fun and just need a lie-down in a quiet dark room, then you can simply click the ‘unsubscribe’ link at the bottom of any email. Job done.
Will it cost me anything?
No, it’s free. Simple as that.
How is Nelson Pulse funded?
We’re fully independent, not owned by any media groups or anything. And we don’t get any council or government funding either. The newsletter is produced as a labour of love, and funded by advertising from local Nelson businesses.
Do you sell email addresses?
No. Never have and never will. Your email address will always be private and confidential.
Can I let you know about an upcoming Nelson event?
Please do. You can submit an event here or message us via our Facebook page. Tell us what, when and where – and how to get tickets etc if relevant.
Can I share a photo I took of something cool?
You sure can. Well, if it’s a sweet pic of your dog then maybe share that on Facebook or Insta. 😉 But if it’s something cool or interesting you spotted happening around Nelson, then yes please, we’d love to share (and will credit you as the source, if that’s OK). Get in touch here.
